Trailer Information Will Show When Hooking a Trailer

Thanks to Doug Ostrowski from Evans Distribution for this truckload software enhancement.

Now when you “Hook” a trailer to a truck, the system will provide users with the following information in the “trailer selection drop down list”:

  • Customer name or Trailer Yard Name of where the trailer was dropped (if the trailer was dropped at a customer or yard)
  • Last known City and State location of trailer
  • Trailer status codes. The trailer has two different codes. First it can be either HOOKED to a truck or UNHOOKED. Second, the trailer can have the following statuses:
    • Unavailable – out of service or not available to use.
    • Available – Available to use and no freight on board.
    • Unavailable FOB (freight on board) – this means the trailer has freight on it, and is likely dropped at a customer waiting for the trailer to be emptied before coming available.
    • Available FOB (freight on board) – this means the trailer has freight on it and is likely pre-loaded by the customer and waiting for a truck to come and hook onto it.

This “trailer selection drop down information” is available on the following screens:

  • When dispatching a load and the truck needs a trailer (screen shot below)
  • When dispatching a truck on a deadhead and the truck needs a trailer.
  • When doing the CALL LOADED function and the truck needs a trailer
  • When doing an EMPTY event and the truck may be picking up an trailer for a return load
  • When doing an COMPLETE deadhead and the truck may be picking up an trailer for a return load
  • In the trip monitor, if the dispatcher needs to HOOK a trailer.

Here is a screen shot of the “Dispatch screen” showing the drop down list of trailers and the new info.

Together, it just keeps getting better ... and the best is yet to come!
